Programme Description
What does this team do?
Our Actuarial, Pensions and Reward practice is a rapidly growing team of actuaries, employee benefits specialists and modelling experts. They provide audit and assurance services to those responsible for pension schemes.
You'll get the opportunity to work in a national practice based in London or Belfast, with many different learning and development options available. From the start, you'll take on interesting and challenging work, enabling you to develop personally and professionally within the pensions industry.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
You'll need to have achieved a minimum of Math's A Level Grade B, and you need to be on track to achieve a predicted degree classification of 2:1 or above in a numerical or scientific discipline. You also need to have graduated by September 2026 for the Autumn 2026 intake.
What kind of work will I do?
Right from the beginning you'll get involved with different organisations, enabling you to increase your market knowledge across many different sectors.
You will work with some of the world's most recognisable names, including companies publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange. You'll also have the opportunity to work with some of the UK's most innovative start-ups and privately-owned businesses.
You'll work alongside our team of pensions specialists, learning to independently perform pensions liability calculations and getting involved in auditing corporate accounts.
You'll work on the preparation of audit documentation, present findings and have the opportunity to work on wider pensions, reward, HR and analytics projects.
Where will I work?
At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events.
Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.
All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our parent and carer policies here.
What's in it for me?
You will be joining a world-class Graduate Scheme at Deloitte, in a full-time permanent role that gives you a market-leading salary, benefits and endless opportunities. In addition to all this, you will complete a professional actuarial qualification that will contribute to developing your career. All of which is driven by our shared sense of purpose:
* We challenge and we rise to the challenge: We want our people to achieve their potential and are committed to making that happen. We offer you an outstanding training scheme, the opportunity to obtain an internationally renowned professional actuarial qualification and ongoing investment in your development.
* We include everyone: We are a diverse group of people of the highest calibre and our inclusive culture means everyone's voice is heard. You'll learn from them every day, work in a friendly and supportive team environment, make friends for life, and develop a broad professional network that will serve you well, no matter where your career takes you.
* We do the right thing: We believe our people are at their best when they connect their work to a greater cause. At Deloitte, you'll find a place where you can be your true self, thrive professionally and personally, and make a shared impact that reaches further and means more.
How will I develop?
Soft skills
To support you, we invest heavily in both your technical skills and soft skills (e.g. communication skills, ability to challenge, decision-making, resilience, project management and leadership skills). These will help you to become a successful business professional and allow you to navigate different situations that you'll encounter during your career.
Qualifications
As part of your graduate opportunity, you'll be studying towards the Institute and Faculty Actuaries (IFoA) examinations. The Actuarial qualification is designed to expand your knowledge of a range of technical topic areas, helping you become a recognised Associate or Fellow with the IFoA, and a trusted business advisor.
Whilst professional exams can be challenging, and will require commitment from you, we in turn commit to providing you with the right support network to help you succeed. You'll be given funded top-quality tuition, with a mix of classroom and self-managed learning sessions, a dedicated study mentor, a people leader and access to support from our professional education team.
We will cover the cost of all mandated courses, permitted exam attempts and membership fees required for your Professional Qualification. We will also provide a specified amount of paid study leave to undertake the exams required.
