RGU Accounting and Business Advisory Assistant (AFR) - Aberdeen - Placement - August 2024
Accounting and business advisory – start shaping your business career
This role is for Robert Gordon University candidates only
Join our accounting and business advisory team on a 12-month paid placement as part of your sandwich degree course and discover what it’s really like to work in business. Gain hands-on experience, build a network of contacts, and get advice from our expert mentors.
At RSM, you’ll discover a culture that nurtures individuality and an environment where everyone is supported to reach their potential. If you perform well, you could be given the opportunity to join one of our Graduate training programmes that will help you kick-start your business career. With us, you’ll always be moving forward.
What does our accounting and business advisory team do?
Our team ensures companies’ financial statements comply with government regulations and industry standards. We advise on business strategies, provide financial forecasts, and prepare management accounts that reflect business performance.
We help clients understand what management accounts reveal about their business and identify areas for performance improvement. We also provide daily advice to clients across various industry sectors, often being their first point of contact for financial or business-related questions.
What can you expect?
You will be a key member of our team from day one, gaining experience working alongside current trainees and experienced staff. You’ll be involved in client work quickly, learn about different industries, and benefit from on-the-job training and internal courses to develop your skills.
What we look for
We seek enthusiastic self-starters who are quick learners, confident with numbers, attentive to detail, and possess excellent communication skills. Demonstrating strong financial acumen from the start is essential.
Flexible working
We support flexible work arrangements to help our staff balance responsibilities and foster a fulfilling work environment.
Our recruitment process
High performers may be offered roles in different locations or departments if their first choice is unavailable. Only one application per cycle is considered, and multiple applications are not accepted.
Entry requirements
We value passion, personality, and originality alongside academic results. You will need:
* 112 UCAS points across 3 A Levels or equivalent, or 104 UCAS points across 4 Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level);
* A predicted honours degree from Robert Gordon University.
Please note, we do not accept General Studies, AS levels, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
