Mears Housing Management is seeking Resident Welfare Officers to support a new service aimed at helping vulnerable clients avoid homelessness and transition into settled accommodation. The role involves pastoral, floating support to manage and sustain interim accommodation and facilitate pathways to permanent housing.
The Role
This position is part of a frontline delivery team providing accommodation and support through:
* Assessing, recording, and planning welfare and support needs for each client.
* Delivering services in accordance with Mears' Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion policies, ensuring a tailored, culturally sensitive approach.
* Ensuring contractual compliance and achieving key performance indicators and service delivery targets.
* Referring clients, liaising with other agencies, and signposting to support services.
* Building relationships with regional support and service providers.
* Managing and mitigating risks related to service user well-being and escalating issues as per policy.
* Ensuring safeguarding and welfare are prioritized in line with established procedures.
* Maintaining professional boundaries and demonstrating resilience to provide consistent, high-quality service.
* Collaborating with Housing Managers to deliver seamless support tailored to individual and property needs.
* Providing performance and service reports, escalating risks and concerns promptly.
This role includes a Company Car, as travel across different locations in the North West area is required.
Role Criteria
The successful candidate will have:
* Experience in a similar support role working with vulnerable and diverse client groups.
* Experience dealing with issues like drug misuse, homelessness, mental health, ex-offenders, trafficking.
* A qualification in support or mental health services.
* Ability to identify individual and family needs and support packages to promote independence.
* Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients.
* Ability to work independently.
* Traits such as supportiveness, trustworthiness, empathy, patience, openness, and adaptability, with a strong desire to assist others.
* A full UK Driving License.
