Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician Location: Loughborough Duration: Permanent Hours: 07:00 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 13:00 Friday Salary: Up to 40k Our Engineering client, based in Loughborough is recruiting for an experience Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team, on a permanent basis. Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing and performing advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure that equipment, machinery, and systems operate effectively and efficiently in the manufacturing and commercial environment. This role also involves leading and mentoring apprentices and maintenance technicians while assisting with planning and executing maintenance programs, breakdown, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues, as well as performing preventative maintenance to minimise downtime. Key Responsibilities: * Stand-in for Lead Technician/ Chargehand when they are not on site. * Mentor apprentices and new starters to the department. * Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. * Perform repairs on a wide range of equipment, including Vacuum plants, Oil processing equipment, FLTs, Compressed air systems, Lighting and production machinery. * Conduct emergency repairs to minimise production downtime. * Execute routine maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance of equipment and legal compliance. * Inspect equipment and systems regularly for signs of wear or malfunction. * Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs using Idhammar database. * Install new equipment and systems according to technical manuals and safety guidelines. * Assist with upgrading or retrofitting existing equipment to improve performance or meet new operational needs. * Provide technical assistance and training to operators and other staff. * Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to optimise equipment performance * Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company policies and safety regulations. * Perform risk assessments and ensure the safe operation of equipment during maintenance. * Report and address potential safety hazards using companies SIO reporting system. * All employees have a legal duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and to observe and follow the relevant systems, rules and methods of working * Ensure all data protection activities of personal and special category data; pertaining to current employees, customers, and all other external stakeholders, are done so in line with the company's data Protection Policy. * The job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Company Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills: Qualifications: * Electrical apprenticeship * NVQ3, ONC or City & Guilds qualification * Proven track record in a similar role * HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering Skills: * Strong guidance and mentoring skills. * Effective communication * Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude under pressure. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and allocate resources efficiently. * Attention to detail * Drive to continually improve quality * Flexible and willing to adapt * This is a challenging and important role requiring a high degree of technical competence with a corresponding level of self-sufficiency and resourcefulness Experience: * A minimum of four year's experience required in Electrical maintenance role * Able to work with company's rules and guidance notes on health and safety, including operation of safe systems of work in relation to high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and work in a heavy industrial environment.
