Job Description:
Are you a confident HR professional with a passion for employee relations? We’re looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our friendly team on a 10 month, fixed-term basis to cover a period of maternity leave.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role that will primarily support the business with employee relations casework — from conduct and capability matters through to absence management and informal resolution. Working closely with line managers and colleagues across the business, you’ll play a key role in upholding best practice and ensuring fair and consistent application of our policies.
You’ll be part of a small but collaborative HR team, where you’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, lead on your own caseload, and support managers with guidance tailored to each situation. Confidence, discretion, and excellent communication skills are essential, as is a working knowledge of UK employment law and HR processes.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required on occasion to travel to our various sites across the south of England to support with employee related matters. However, where feasible, HR support may also be delivered remotely to minimise the need for travel. A pool car and fuel card are available when travel is required.
We welcome applications from candidates seeking either part-time or full-time hours. The salary for this role is £35,600 per annum, dependent on experience and pro-rated for part-time arrangements. The position is based at our Head Office in Ampfield, near Romsey.
Please note that due to the nature of the role we will wish to complete a basic DBS check on the successful candidate. The cost of which will be covered by the Company.
As Regional HR Advisor you will be responsible for:
* Acting as the first point of contact for all HR related matters within your business areas
* Managing your own case load of employee relation and performance management matters for your allocated business areas
* Managing long and short term absence for your allocated business area
* Coaching, advising, and providing pragmatic support to managers on HR policies and procedures including disciplinary, redundancy, grievance, etc.
* Advising and providing expert knowledge on recruitment best practice including assisting and developing recruitment campaigns.
* Working with key stakeholders to ensure vacancies are filled in a timely manner
Your skills and experience
* Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards)
* Proven experience in a human resources role, with a strong foundation in best practice
* Demonstrable expertise in managing complex employee relations matters
* Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a close knit team
* Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels
* Sound judgement with a consistent and fair approach to decisionmaking
* Solid understanding of current employment legislation and HR compliance
* Flexible and willing to travel as required by the role
* Monitoring and reporting on key recruitment metrics
We offer:
* Salary of up to £35,600per annum depending on experience
* Life assurance at 4 x annual salary
* Option to join enhanced group pension plan
* Employee discount of 20%
* 31 days annual leave (pro rata if part time)
* Free onsite parking
* Enhanced Employee Assistance Programme for both you and your immediate family, including free counselling onhealth, financial, legaland personal/family matters
* Free access to exclusive retail discounts, deals and coupons, plus extra cashback on your Amazon and food shop
* Free access to the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, Romsey and deals at other gardens nationally
