The Estates team has over 250 colleagues, working across all of our sites on everything from the refurbishment of buildings to cleaning & catering. Buxton TeamThe Buxton Estates team is a small, dedicated, and highly motivated group of which the cleaning team is an important part of. We manage all aspects of the cleaning on the site from ensuring hygiene in the teaching kitchens, & toilet facilities to hosting events for charitable organisations. One of the most important parts of the role is to be able to interact and communicate equally with both students as well as staff. We pride ourselves in being able to uphold the Universities goals, principles, and objectives within our local community.About the RoleAn opportunity has arisen for a Cleaner to join our high calibre and committed Building Services team, delivering a first-class customer orientated cleaning service to the University’s portfolio of buildings. The role is to carry out cleaning duties which include areas such as, the teaching kitchens, classrooms, toilet facilities, offices, etc as well as other accommodation, owned, leased or rented by the University located in the Buxton campus. The role will also include some low level work from Step ladders or working platforms. Please note this is a part time role; 30 hours per week. The working pattern is 6am - 12.30pm with a 30 minute break; Monday to Friday.The anticipated interview date in Monday 15th June 2026.About YouThe most important and essential requirement is to have basic skills and general experience of cleaning, i.e. previous use of chemicals, use of basic cleaning machines, and be comfortable cleaning at low level, but above ground level from step ladders or working platforms.
