We are a long-established rural accountancy firm seeking an experienced and reliable individual to take ownership of the preparation and review of accounts across a mixed portfolio, predominantly agricultural clients alongside several larger commercial businesses.
This is a hands-on, production-focused role with responsibility for quality control, suited to someone who takes pride in delivering accurate, complete work with minimal supervision.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
* Preparation or finalisation of year-end accounts for farming and rural businesses, alongside a selection of SME clients
* Completing corporation tax and self-assessment returns
* Handling key areas such as:
* Capital gains tax
* Rollover and holdover elections
* Reviewing bookkeeping and accounts work prepared by other team members
* Ensuring all work is technically accurate and submission-ready before partner review
* Acting as a key quality control point within the firm
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance
* Experience with agricultural accounts (Essential)
* Proven ability to review and correct work produced by others
* High attention to detail and technical accuracy
* Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of output
* Calm and reliable under deadline press
