Position Overview
Based in the Medical Centre at HMS Excellent, this role provides a broad and flexible service to meet the contracted administration requirements of the Armed Forces, predominantly the Royal Navy. There is potential to rotate through various professional responsibilities as needed to support the business. Training can be provided where appropriate.
Main Responsibilities
The role involves providing a dedicated day-to-day focal point for medical services administration, including direct customer interaction and liaison with clinical staff. You will arrange and coordinate Medical Centre appointments, hospital visits, and review boards. Maintaining and protecting patient-related data is essential, along with data capture and input to update the medical administration system. All activities must comply fully with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Line Manager, including support and cover for other staff members.

The individual should be versatile, intuitive, professional, and demonstrate good judgement and absolute integrity. They should be proactive, persuasive when needed, responsive to changing business needs, calm under pressure, self-motivated, reliable, and well presented, embodying the positive image of Mitie's company values.
Key attributes include administration experience with strong organisational and motivational skills, a high degree of integrity, and a proven track record of delivering quality administration and service in customer-facing roles. The candidate must be a persuasive and credible communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to develop close working relationships. IT literacy and good working knowledge of MS Office applications are essential. Familiarity with MOD medical administration applications and systems is desirable. The role requires a proactive approach, the ability to embrace and lead change, manage short-notice changes to requirements and deadlines, and a good standard of education.
Additional Information
MOD security clearance and a DBS Standard check are required. Proof of the right to work in the UK is essential. The contract involves a 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday, between 07:30 and 17:00. Approved company workwear must be worn.
