Structural Engineer : Barrow in Furness, Cumbria Salary : £30,000 - £35,000, potentially negotiable MacArthur Recruitment is seeking a Structural Engineer, a graduate with some solid experience and ideally keen to follow the chartership route or an appetite for self-development and learning. This is for a successful Barrow-based consulting engineering business. There is flexibility in the entry requirements for this position and further support can be provided whether it’s continuing your education or going through the process to become IEng or CEng. It is a varied role, working on large and small projects as well as on existing structures. The position is with an established but growing company that can offer further training and development – they are fun, open and supportive. Sectors vary from domestic, commercial, industrial and healthcare. Overview of the role of Structural Engineer, some or all of this experience : Production of schematic / concept designs and structural design calculations Working with other construction professionals in the development of designs Working on designs for buildings, including steel frames, domestic, commercial, industrial, including factories Undertaking and developing structural designs using design/analysis software (Tekla Structural Designer & Tedds) Small to medium schemes Developing relationships with clients and other professionals Your experience for the role of Structural Engineer: Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering Sound commercial experience within a civil/structural design role IT literate with experience of structural design software packages. Strong AutoCAD skills – Revit experience would be a bonus Strong interpersonal and communication skills Interested to work towards further professional qualifications, professional development and learning (e.g. C.Eng / I.Eng, MIStructE/MICE or equivalent) Driving licence or willing to get one. Additional aspects of the role of Structural Engineer, some or all of the following: Responsible for the analysis and design of building structures, progressing to overall design of structures Managing projects Ability to produce drawings using AutoCAD software Checking drawings and calculations produced by others Visiting sites and attending site meetings Helping run internal planning and design meetings Attend external design meetings with clients Prepare correspondence and reports.
