This job is based at North Manchester General Hospital.
This is a great role to start your career as a Pharmacy Assistant, as you’ll receive all the training and support you need to be your best. You’ll support Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians by providing supervised pharmacy services, including dispensing of medicines, and replenishing and maintaining ward stocks and patients’ own medicines. This is a progressive role which will commence as a Band 2 and, upon completion of relevant qualification and competencies, will progress to a Band 3.
Responsibilities
* Support Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians by providing supervised pharmacy services, including dispensing of medicines, replenishing and maintaining ward stocks and patients’ own medicines.
* Work on the inpatient/outpatient hatch receiving prescriptions, deal with routine enquiries from patients and hospital staff, maintain drug stocks, assemble prescriptions, and check and receive deliveries using Pharmacy systems.
* Participate in patient-centred care at ward level.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures relevant to your role.
* Rotate through all areas of the technical service, particularly wards and the Inpatient Dispensary.
