Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm (Days)
Overtime: Plenty available
Holidays: 25 days + 8 bank holidays (option to buy 5 additional days)
Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a business that is heavily investing in its people, equipment, and site. You'll be part of a supportive engineering team within a well‑established manufacturer that continues to modernise and grow.
The client offers first‑class training and development opportunities, including hands‑on experience with CNC machinery, wrappers, and other state‑of‑the‑art production equipment.
The Role
Working as part of the on‑site engineering team, you'll provide essential maintenance support across all areas of production, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and downtime is kept to a minimum.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
* Prioritise maintenance work alongside the Operations Team to meet production demands.
* Carry out tooling changes on presses as required.
* Manage press tooling procurement and implement ongoing improvements.
* Undertake planned and preventive maintenance activities.
* Ensure all routine maintenance is completed to a high standard.
* Support and train operators in basic machine maintenance and operation.
* Liaise with external contractors for both reactive and preventive maintenance.
* Be available for technical advice or callouts outside normal working hours when required.
