Hours: 14 hours per week
Set shifts Monday to Saturday: 9am-10am and 6pm-7pm, plus 2 flexible hours
Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour
Area: Gosforth, Newcastle
You’ll be supporting a friendly and independent middle-aged man with cerebral palsy who has a great sense of humour and works full-time in the performing arts. He communicates using an iPad and enjoys comedy, music gigs, reading, writing, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys going to the gym, socialising, and all things tech. He lives in a tidy, welcoming home in Gosforth (no pets) and is seeking someone supportive, reliable, and easy to get along with.
Brief details of the job:
This role involves providing practical, hands-on support with daily routines, including help with dressing, drying after a shower, preparing simple meals, shaving, brushing teeth, and light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and taking out the bins.
The job also includes occasional support with social activities and outings. Essential skills include good communication, reliability, physical ability to assist with personal routines (no intimate care), and a respectful, friendly approach. Confidence in the kitchen and with basic domestic tasks is important. Full guidance and training will be provided.
