Salary: £27,000 £30,000 (negotiable depending on experience) Location: Derry/Londonderry Hours: Full-time, MondayFriday (flexible options available) Were currently working with a well-established business based in the Derry/Londonderry area who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a varied role that blends finance and administration duties. The Role As the Accounts Assistant, youll play a key role in supporting the finance function by maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and assisting with payroll and HR administration. Your responsibilities will include: Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate data entry Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies Preparing and processing payment runs (BACS/cheques) Managing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers regarding queries Completing monthly bank reconciliations Preparing VAT and Intrastat returns Processing weekly payroll and maintaining pension records Supporting HR administration, including recruitment paperwork, onboarding, and maintaining staff records Assisting the wider finance team with customer accounts and general administrative duties Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience in a busy accounts office environment Minimum 3 years experience using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills Excellent organisational, process and time management abilities A proactive, team-focused approach and high attention to detail Working Hours & Flexibility Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with shift options available: 8:00am 4:30pm 8:30am 5:00pm 9:00am 5:30pm A 4-day working week can also be facilitated Benefits Full-time permanent role with long-term stability Supportive and friendly team environment Flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance If youre an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in your career within a well-respected local business, wed love to hear from you.
