Secondary School in East Devon is currently looking for a Cover Supervisor to join them for flexible cover. The school would ideally like someone to start this term, for a full- or part-time opportunity that runs from Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM. The specific days can vary, but there is consistent work to suit the right candidate.
The school needs Cover Supervisors to cover various classes across KS3 and KS4. Cover work will be assigned by the Class Teacher, but a good understanding of most subjects is beneficial.
Applicants should be flexible and adaptable to different classes. You must be confident in teaching across KS3 and KS4, and be able to take on pre-planned lessons with ease. Teaching qualifications are not essential, but extensive experience working in schools is preferred. A degree in a specific subject, such as Maths, would be advantageous.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Supervise students actively, providing clear instructions and addressing queries.
2. Engage students effectively during cover lessons.
3. Manage behaviour in line with school policies, promoting positive conduct.
4. Display organisational and time management skills, and be flexible in a busy school environment.
5. Support all students with good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
6. Collaborate with staff to enhance student outcomes.
7. Report to the teacher as needed.
