Who You Are You are educated to a degree level or possess equivalent experience in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, or building conservation. You have experience in providing expert conservation advice on various development proposals, including residential/commercial schemes, major or strategic development proposals, and those related to historic buildings and conservation areas. You are skilled in working with elected members and delivering high-quality briefings and presentations. You are cooperative, knowledgeable about legislation, capable of prioritizing workloads, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. What the Job Involves In your role, based in Sutton’s Planning Department, you will be responsible for providing specialist conservation and heritage advice to both the Development Management service and the Strategic Planning Team. You will advise on key redevelopment sites, collaborate with Historic England, and assist with heritage grant access. Additionally, you will review Sutton Town Centre Conservation Area policies and work in connection with the Sutton Local Plan, particularly regarding Historic England's input.
