Overview
We are looking for an amazing Store Manager to lead our lovely Cardiff team! As a Store Manager at Lucy & Yak, you will lead, manage and drive the success of your store by motivating and inspiring your team and building a community. You will create outstanding brand experiences while seizing and creating commercial opportunities. You will train, develop, motivate and support your team to excel in day-to-day operations and achieve store KPIs. You will ensure your store embodies Lucy & Yak’s ethics and ethos in all areas, from visual merchandising to customer service.

* Leadership
o Provide strong leadership, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Motivate and inspire your team to achieve individual and collective goals.
o Give instant and consistent positive and constructive feedback to your team to enhance performance. Empower your Assistant Manager to do the same.
o Play a leading role in the recruitment, training, and development of a high-performing team.
o Manage, support, train and develop your team. You’ll be a role model of the Lucy & Yak ethos and ensure the brand is represented in the best way possible.
* Customer-Centric Approach
o Customer obsessed. Become an expert on all things Lucy & Yak – from products and sizing to sustainability and ethics.
o Foster a customer-focused culture within the store, ensuring every interaction exceeds expectations and creates memorable experiences.
o Be the final point of escalation for customer queries and issues within your store, addressing and resolving promptly with a focus on satisfaction.
* Sales
o Drive and motivate your team to meet sales targets and KPIs through incentives and training.
o Implement strategies in collaboration with your Assistant Manager to drive sales growth and enhance the customer journey.
* Operational Excellence
o Oversee day-to-day retail operations, including staffing, sales, visual merchandising, and administration.
o Be responsible for day-to-day health and safety in store, maintaining high standards for the team and customers and escalating issues as necessary.
o Create and manage staff rotas to ensure adequate shop floor coverage including leave approvals.
o Uphold high standards of visual merchandising aligned with the brand identity, ensuring the shop is exciting, colourful and accessible.
o Attend weekly and quarterly management meetings.
* Stock Management
o Responsible for effective stock management within your store and working with merchandising and warehouse teams to optimise inventory levels.
o Enforce procedures to minimise stock discrepancies and ensure best selling product availability wherever possible.
o Implement stock management procedures, stockroom organisation, line counts and stock takes.
* Financial Management
o Analyse and interpret key performance indicators to drive informed decision-making.
o Manage your store budget for resources, equipment and overtime, ensuring it is not exceeded.
* Marketing, Events & Community Engagement
o Work with the Head of Retail to execute the retail marketing strategy in stores (e.g. events, promotions, windows, layouts).
o Create engaging in-store content with your team and manage your store’s social media platforms.
o Organise, staff and run collaboration events in your store.

* Previous Management experience of 2 years within a customer-facing role is essential.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to drive sales and achieve targets.
* Good understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
* Good IT skills – confident with Word, Excel, social media applications and till systems.
* Resilience, initiative and the ability to think quickly to resolve issues.
* Experience with mid-long term planning is a bonus.
* Previous fashion retail experience is highly desirable but not essential.
The fine print
* Salary based on experience.
* Based in Cardiff.
* 37.5 hours per week.
