As an Apprentice Roofer, you will learn how to undertake the following day to day tasks:
1. Removing rubbish and keeping the work area clean and tidy
2. Removing or repairing broken slates and tiles
3. Checking roof timbers
4. Measuring and cutting materials to the correct size
5. Cutting and fitting lead flashings around chimneys
6. Tiling and slating
7. Roofline joinery works
8. Sealing roof joints
9. Move, handle and store resources, complying with relevant legislation and guidance
10. Select the required materials and resources to carry out the work
11. Set up, check and operate plant and or equipment
12. Install related materials and components to a given specification
13. Use, maintain and store hand tools, power tools and associated equipment
14. Access, interpret and drawings and specifications to carry out work
15. Erect tower scaffolding
