We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for you to work in the Weymouth Urgent Treatment Centre and Dorset HealthCare Minor Injury Units as part of the Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service (DIUCS). You will play a crucial role in delivering coordinated urgent care, diagnosing and treating minor injuries and ailments.
We have vacancies for full‑time and part‑time hours. This is a Band 7 Emergency Care Practitioner role requiring experience in minor injuries, ailments and urgent care appointments across the Weymouth UTC, Minor Injury Units and Integrated Urgent Care Service.
We are looking for a motivated, highly competent, and caring individual who can practice as an autonomous practitioner, ideally with experience in an urgent or emergency care setting. The successful candidate should demonstrate advanced clinical practice and decision‑making skills, support & role‑model colleagues, and assist in the development of the team and service. Training and development needs will be supported.
Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are currently ineligible.
Main duties
Deliver excellent patient care, demonstrating advanced clinical practice and decision‑making skills. Work within the multi‑disciplinary team of nurses, paramedics, skilled healthcare assistants and doctors. Support patient care across sites and services within DIUCS.
Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Training
* Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level supplemented by a minimum PG dip (120 credits) plus MA/MSc or working towards one in a relevant subject, or extensive experience in the relevant specialty.
* Membership of the relevant Professional Body.
Job Specific Experience
* Experience at Registered Practitioner Band 6 level.
* Evidence of risk management skills and experience.
* Ability to demonstrate specialist clinical reasoning skills to assimilate information and make diagnoses and interventions.
Experience
* Minor injury & illness.
Managerial / Supervisory Experience
* Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of staff.
Information Technology
* Confident in the use of computer systems, spreadsheets, databases and data.
* Experience of using electronic patient / service user record systems.
Personal Qualities / Attributes
* Planning and organising complex activities, adjusting plans for unforeseen circumstances.
* Diplomacy, negotiation and influencing skills.
Additional Requirements
* Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard that enables the post holder to carry out all duties effectively.

Contract
Permanent. Full‑time and part‑time.
Salary
£49,387 to £56,515 per year (pro rata for part‑time).
