Overall Purpose: Responsible for protecting both the workers and workplace and ensuring the business is compliant with legislation.
Main Responsibilities:
· Develop, maintain & promote all H&S management plans, policies & systems throughout the organisation
· Ensure the business is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements
· Maintains appropriate levels of training and certification in Health & Safety throughout the workplace, including delivery if appropriate
· Conduct regular site inspections to identify & arrange for the remedy of potential risks & dangers
· Conduct weekly fire drills, to ensure equipment is properly functioning and staff are aware of what to do in an emergency
· Investigates non-serious accidents and injuries and liaises with the appropriate authorities for serious accidents
· Organise monthly Health & Safety Meetings and set the agenda
· Preparation of plans, reports and budgets as required
· Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders in the business
· New staff inductions
· SEPA reporting requirements for gas, water, effluent, chemicals, waste, scrap
· Maintain Environmental accreditations
· Understanding of legal requirements and government requirements relating to Environmental standards
· To develop plans to reduce waste and promote recycling and reuse
· Perform regular audits and monitor performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure that appropriate corrective or preventative actions are taken, including follow up reviews
· Any other adhoc duties as required

Qualifications & Experience
· NEBOSH General Certificate
· 3-5 years' experience working in a Health & Safety related position
· A bachelor's degree in environmental health or related field is desirable
Working Hours
· Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4pm
