Secondary Design Technology Teacher – Bricket Wood Area
Location: Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: January 2026

We're excited to partner with a respected secondary school located in Bricket Wood, known for its inclusive atmosphere and focus on fostering both student and staff success. With a strong emphasis on creativity, innovation, and practical learning, the school is seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join the team from January 2026.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about inspiring students through Design Technology. Whether you're an experienced teacher or just starting out in your career, we would love to hear from you!

About the Role:

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5 if you have the relevant experience. Subject areas may include Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and CAD/CAM. You'll be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, fostering practical skills, and ensuring the safety and organization of the workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in Design Technology

Encourage creativity and hands-on learning through diverse projects

Track student progress and provide constructive feedback

Manage workshop equipment, tools, and materials effectively

Collaborate with colleagues to improve and enrich curriculum delivery

Participate in wider school initiatives and responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level

Strong knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum and workshop safety

A creative, hands-on teaching style

Effective classroom management skills

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
