A leading home brand is looking for an experienced Product Technologist specialist for their furniture / upholstery department. You will be responsible for all product compliance, ensuring all specifications are correct, and quality is maintained across its innovative furniture product portfolio.
The role…
Reporting into the Head of product and working closely alongside the development teams. You will use your technical knowledge & product compliance experience to ensure any products meet all UK, EU, and ISO quality standards, while supporting the development of market-leading furniture products.
* Evaluating new products and any product revisions to ensure they are legal and safe and meet performance and legal requirements.
* Providing technical support to the Product Team and promoting collaborative and close working relationships.
* Own and manage the product specifications, including revision control and communication of any changes.
* Continually review and update all product Quality Manuals, distributing any revisions to suppliers
* Coordinate and conduct ad-hoc product and component testing through UK and international manufacturing and supplier facilities
* Keep up-to date with general quality Legislation and communicate internally any changes to product regulations and standards.
Skills & experience required:
* You’ll be able to demonstrate an understanding of furniture technology, construction, testing and manufacturing methods.
* Flexible approach to be able to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
* Ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately.
* Exceptional eye for technical detail.
* Applied technical knowledge of furniture construction and performance.
* Highly organised with good prioritisation skills.
* Confident and clear communication skills; both verbal and written to work productively alongside product teams and external suppliers.
* Ability to travel to sites across the UK and occasionally Internationally
