About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Operative to join our Estate Management team. This is a driving-based, mobile role, requiring travel between multiple estates and locations throughout the working day using a company vehicle. The role is hands-on and varied, combining practical estate maintenance duties with customer service and teamwork. You will be responsible for maintaining communal and external areas to a high standard, ensuring estates remain safe, clean, and well-presented for residents.
Role Responsibilities
1. Drive a company vehicle daily between estates and work locations, transporting tools, equipment, and materials as required.
2. Maintain gardens, hedges, and external pathways across multiple sites.
3. Remove snow and apply grit during winter months.
4. Weed spraying and grass cutting for communal areas.
5. Act as a visible presence on estates, providing reassurance and customer service to residents.
6. Conduct daily or weekly inspections of estates to identify hazards or required works.
7. Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations for cleaning chemicals and PPE use.
8. Maintain communal areas, stairwells, lifts, bin stores, and external spaces to high standards.
9. Remove litter, bulky waste, graffiti, and ensure safe, hygienic conditions across all estates.
Criteria
10. Ability to drive a 3.5-tonne flatbed vehicle as part of daily duties.
11. Previous experience in estate management and/or grounds maintenance.
12. Full UK driving licence, with confidence driving for extended periods and between multiple locations.
