JOB-20240911-c1c514b9 Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse - Forensic Team Specialism: Specialist Mental Health Nursing (Forensic Services) Location: Surrey, UK Pay Rate: £28.17 per hour Contract Type: Locum / Ongoing Working Pattern: Part Time or Full Time About the role We are recruiting a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join the Forensic Team within Specialist Mental Health Nursing services in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals who are at risk of offending due to mental health needs, supporting recovery while promoting public safety. The role is county-wide, based out of Unither House, Chertsey, and involves working with a mixed caseload of clients living in the community, as well as engagement across a range of settings which may include locations outside the county. You will work collaboratively with criminal justice partners and mental health services to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. Manage and contribute to the care of a forensic community caseload, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of care plans and risk management strategies. Liaise with criminal justice partners including police, probation services, solicitors, and courts, providing professional advice and mental health expertise. Work collaboratively with mainstream psychiatric and inpatient services to ensure continuity of care. Administer medication in line with clinical guidelines and Trust policies. Provide support, advice, and information to carers and relatives to ensure a holistic approach to care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with Trust standards and governance requirements. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
