Job purpose
The Apprentice is expected to complete tasks under the supervision of the Data Protection Officer, who will allocate and prioritize the Apprentice's work. The Apprentice will be supported by the Council's Employability Team to complete a Business Administration qualification. They will act as a link between the Apprentice, Data Protection Officer, and training provider.
A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training program leading to an industry-approved qualification. The Apprentice must achieve milestones related to the SVQ 2 Business and Administration (SCQF Level 5) as per their Training Plan. Failure to meet these targets may result in termination.
About the role
Fife Council is committed to creating employment and training opportunities for young people. This post is funded through the Workforce Youth Investment programme and is restricted to applicants who live in Fife and are aged between 16 and 24 on or by the start date.
The postholder will support the Council's Data Protection Team, including:
1. Handling data protection inquiries and assessment activities to ensure compliance with legislation.
2. Responding to data protection inquiries and breach notifications.
3. Contributing to the development of the Record of Processing Activities and Information Sharing Register.
4. Assisting with data protection communication, training, and compliance activities.
Qualifications and skills
* Educated to National 4 Level, including English and Maths.
* Genuine interest in privacy, human rights, or law.
* Understanding of Microsoft applications and good communication skills.
* Aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail, time management, customer service, and organizational skills.
