Your Role in Building Brighter Futures
As a 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant at St Nicholas’ Chantry School, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about living our values and making a positive impact on all the young people in our Trust.

Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant (see the JD for accountabilities):
The teaching assistant will:
Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of children
Promote child independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
Give support to children, individually, in groups or as a class (under the direction of the teacher), so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
What You’ll Bring to Futura:
We are looking for a motivated and inspirational teaching assistant who will:
Have a good standard of education (5 x GCSE’s – English and Maths C or above) or equivalent qualification/experience (e.g. substantial experience as a Teaching Assistant.
Have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
Be able to plan and implement effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving
Be able to support a range of children in the classroom, including those with additional needs and personal care requirements
Be a natural communicator with the ability to relate to both pupils and adults.
Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.

Working Arrangements: Fixed Term until 31st August 2026, then will be reviewed, 21.66 hours per week working Monday to Friday 0840 - 1300, term time only, no inset days required.
