The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs)

As an Art Therapy Assistant, you will:

* Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis with complex needs
* Assist with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and communication
* Adapt activities and learning tasks to suit individual needs
* Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO
* Promote a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all learners
* Help track student progress and contribute to personalised learning plans

Person Specification

* Degree essential – Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Childhood Studies or related field
* Experience supporting young people with SEN, behaviour needs, or disabilities (desirable)
* Strong communication, empathy, and resilience
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who have complex emotional or behavioural needs
* Calm, patient, and committed to helping pupils succeed
* Must have the right to work in the UK
