Service Delivery Support Administrator – Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for a Service Delivery Support Administration Assistant to enhance our team based at our Training Academy at Exeter Airport. The role is available on a permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) basis, with a competitive salary starting at £25,992.00, rising to £27,711.00 (gross) per annum.
As our Service Delivery Support Administration Assistant, you will provide a full range of consistent administration duties and business support to ensure the continued resilience, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Service Delivery Support Teams.
Key responsibilities of the Administration Assistant:
1. Undertaking a range of duties commensurate with an administration assistant role to support the Service's goals and objectives, in accordance with DSFRS policies and procedures, and participating in a team environment.
2. Providing general administrative support to the Service Delivery departments of Protection, Response, and Training, including updates to communication channels such as MS Teams.
3. Handling internal and external enquiries appropriately, escalating or referring to the relevant department as needed.
4. Supporting Service Delivery Managers by collating performance data, maintaining spreadsheets, databases, and systems, and distributing reports in a timely manner.
5. Assisting in departmental meetings, including booking dates and locations, arranging resources, producing supporting papers, and providing technical support.
6. Handling administrative requests, including data input and formatting for Word documents, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications.
7. Supporting operational functions of Service Delivery teams, such as Protection, Response, and Training.
8. Managing departmental resource requirements like stationery, PPE, cameras, detectors, and scrap cars—maintaining stock records, ordering, invoicing, and raising purchase orders in line with budgets.
9. Carrying out financial administration tasks, including procurement card use and reconciliation.
10. Monitoring and completing team-specific Annual Returns and inventories.
11. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
12. Reporting property defects as required.
13. Performing duties at the main workplace and other locations as needed.
