Job Description
* All employees are legally responsible for their own health and safety as well as those who may be affected by their acts or omissions. They are also legally required to cooperate in health and safety matters as directed by their employer.
* The correct protective, preventative clothing and equipment must be worn at all times in designated areas.
* The Operator loads and unloads shipments, verifies materials and packing slips, and stocks items as appropriate.
* Ensures raw materials and/or finished products are placed in the correct pallet space within the warehouse.
* Picks, pulls, and stages orders based on customer or production needs, and prepares items for shipment or production.
* Operates a forklift and other machinery or tools to transport, move, stock, and store materials and products.
* Completes paperwork and/or enters data regarding incoming materials, work-in-progress, outgoing orders, and other operations to ensure records and counts are accurate.
* Operates various machinery such as labelers, packers, palletizers, and fillers to prepare products for shipment; may also perform preventative maintenance on machinery or areas.
* Assists with maintaining an inventory of materials, products, and goods, including cycle counts, calculations, data entry, and related duties.
* Assists with customer returns, disposal, restocking, and transactions in the system.
* Communicates with production, quality control, maintenance, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and ensure product quality.
* Cross covers and deputizes for other operators during absence or leave, and in other areas as required.
* Participates actively in two-way communication and the development and implementation of improvement initiatives.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Forklift Truck Licence - mandatory
* Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
* Ability to follow directions with limited supervision
* Willingness to learn warehousing principles and practices
* Basic mathematical skills
* Basic PC skills
* Effective communication with co-workers to give and receive instructions
