Nurse Practitioner (Non Medical Prescriber)

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (Non-Medical Prescriber) to join our dedicated West Lancashire CYPMH Team within Specialist Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated mental health professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties, including ADHD and emotional distress.
Working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessments, therapeutic interventions, clinical leadership and independent prescribing support while helping shape and develop services for children, young people and families across West Lancashire.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 7 Nurse Practitioner, you will:
* Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with complex mental health needs
* Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk assessments and care planning
* Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions in line with NICE guidance
* Act as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber within CYP services
* Provide leadership, consultation and clinical support to the wider team
* Work collaboratively with families, schools, social care, GPs and partner agencies
* Contribute to safeguarding, clinical governance, service development and quality improvement initiatives
* Support ADHD pathways and integrated working across CYPMH and wider services

Person Specification
Education
* First level nursing qualification, RMN or equivalent
* Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescribing V300
* Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post
Knowledge
* Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers
* Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the needs of the client group
* Demonstrable ability to communicate to clients, their families and professionals sensitive and often difficult to receive information, using various methods including verbal, non- verbal, written and presentation skills
Experience
* Specialist working knowledge and experience of supporting and monitoring children and young people in CYP services including those diagnosed with ADHD
* Demonstrable knowledge/understanding and experience in assessment of young people with complex mental health and/or complex needs such as ADHD/ASD
* Evidence of an ability to effectively manage own workload and able to work autonomously
