Location: Secondary School in Luton
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Main Pay Scale 1 to Upper Pay Scale 3 - £33,075 to £50,471, depending on experience
Are you a passionate and committed Music educator ready to lead a dynamic department? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Luton is seeking to appoint a Head of Music on a permanent basis, starting September 2025.
The Role:
Lead and manage the Music department, delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students across KS3 to KS4
Design and implement an engaging curriculum that encourages creativity and musical excellence
Organise concerts, performances, and extracurricular music opportunities
Contribute to whole-school culture through collaborative planning and cross-curricular engagement
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Music at secondary level
Brings strong subject knowledge and either prior leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
Has excellent classroom management and a passion for inclusive, engaging music education
Is confident in developing musical talent both in and outside the classroom
