Team/Role Overview
As a Data Lead on the Markets Data Solutions team, you will drive the adoption of Citi’s Data Governance Policy (CDGP) across the Markets business, modernise data processes and infrastructure, and lead key initiatives that enhance data quality, controls, and transparency. You will play a critical part in demonstrating complete, accurate, and well‑controlled data to regulators and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
* Provide strategic direction and oversight for cross‑functional data initiatives, collaborating with senior partners including Data Domain Managers across Markets, Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance to ensure the achievement of critical Data Governance outcomes and regulatory commitments under Article V.
* Champion and define Markets business data strategy and requirements, ensuring rigorous alignment to firm‑wide standards and evolving external regulatory expectations across diverse business functions and teams.
* Architect and lead the evolution of data solutions and control outcomes, partnering with Data Domain Managers, Markets Controls Teams, Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance to establish best‑in‑class practices.
* Orchestrate and rationalise a portfolio of complex data initiatives, encompassing data requirements, data quality requirements, taxonomy definition, strategic data sourcing, and issue management, ensuring robust front‑to‑back planning and delivery of critical artifacts across multiple workstreams.
* Cultivate and influence strategic relationships with Markets leadership, the Enterprise Data Office (EDO), and key functional partners Finance and Risk to ensure consistent communication, coordinated execution, timely issue resolution, and informed decision‑making at the highest levels.
* Develop clear, concise, executive‑ready materials for governance forums, working groups, and steering committees, articulating strategic progress, enterprise risks, and required decisions – specifically focussing on the successful, sustained delivery of regulatory commitments and long‑term data vision.
* Navigate and provide decisive leadership through complex, rapidly evolving priorities, managing executive‑level ad‑hoc requests, strategic project updates, cross‑functional inquiries, and leadership communications with exceptional urgency, clarity, and impact.
What We’ll Need From You
* Significant experience delivering complex data programmes within a global financial institution or equivalent, including strategic data sourcing, complex data transformation, enrichment, and governance—ideally within Capital Markets.
* Exceptional strategic analytical and problem‑solving acumen, including interpreting complex regulatory requirements, with the ability to define innovative solutions to highly ambiguous challenges and drive significant operational and strategic improvements.
* Profound and comprehensive understanding of Citi’s Capital Markets ecosystems, including products, data assets, regulatory landscapes, and the supporting operational, risk, and control environments.
* Experience of Data Management principles and concepts, including Data Domains, enterprise data lineage, authoritative data sources, master data management, and sophisticated data quality controls.
