A well-established precision engineering firm — known for producing complex components for the aerospace, defence, and medical sectors — is looking to add an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to its team. Their inspection department is equipped with state-of-the-art gear analysis and metrology tools, including multiple CMMs and a broad suite of specialist gauges.
The Role
* Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections across gear cutting and precision machining departments
* Operate and program CMMs (Aberlink, MicroVu, Brown & Sharpe) and Gleason gear analysers
* Use a wide range of measuring equipment (micrometres, gauges, height sets, comparators, etc.)
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and geometric symbols (GD&T)
* Maintain and support calibration of gauges and measuring instruments (in-house and external)
* Assist with quality documentation, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement
* Work closely with engineers and machinists to resolve issues and uphold product conformity
* Contribute to internal audits and maintain adherence to ISO 9001 and AS9100 procedures
What They’re Looking For
* Strong experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision engineering environment
* Knowledge of inspecting tight tolerance machined components
* Skilled in using CMMs (programming experience beneficial but not essential)
