What You’ll Be Doing
* Developing and implementing our legal strategy, ensuring it supports our mission and objectives.
* Providing expert legal advice to the Board, executive team, and various departments on a range of legal matters including housing law, contracts, governance, and compliance.
* Overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts and agreements related to housing projects, partnerships, and service providers.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations impacting social housing, housing projects, partnerships, and service providers.
* Identifying and assessing legal risks, and developing policies and procedures to mitigate potential issues.
* Overseeing legal disputes or claims, including working with external counsel when required.
* Providing legal training and support to colleagues, promoting understanding of compliance and best practice.
* Leading and mentoring the legal team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
What We’re Looking For
* Legal qualifications
* Experience of legal support relating to social housing, including damp, and repairs and voids contracts
* Excellent communications and leadership skills
