The Role
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, shaping the future of aerospace technology and making a significant difference in strategic transport and air mobility platform projects. This is a unique opportunity to deliver technical leadership and develop stakeholder relationships across various counterparts based at Brize Norton. You’ll act as a key leader and principal systems engineer for our community of technical teams, subject matter experts and customers.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
* Lead and coordinate project and programme engineering activities, ensuring the successful delivery of complex integrated outputs that meet customer requirements.
* Provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and engineering governance.
* Ensure technical output delivered to contracted time, cost and quality;
* Deliver consistency of technical processes, methods and tools in accordance with the QinetiQ Operating Framework.
* Responsible for assuring the quality of engineering integrated outputs (work of all employees, contractors, and military SMEs) in accordance with authorised Technical Delivery Plans.
* Co-ordinate technical aspects of bids including delivery planning and estimates; generating innovative technical/solutions
Essential Experience for the Principal Systems Engineer:
* Experience of applying system engineering toolsets and paradigms to technical project delivery such as requirements engineering, solution architecting, V & V, etc.
* Significant technical experience of military and/or civil air platforms and the air vehicle life cycle.
* Sound knowledge of engineering governance including aerospace certification and regulation.
* Significant technical experience of military and/or civil air platforms and the air vehicle life cycle including knowledge of large aircraft platforms would also be highly desirable criteria.
* Knowledge of the UK MOD customer, MOD Procurement process and knowledge of relevant MAA/CAA regulations.
* Knowledge and experience of applying EASA Part 21/ MAA DAOS.
Qualifications for the Principal Systems Engineer:
* A relevant engineering degree or recognised aerospace academic qualification to at least HND standard.
* Professional Registration at Incorporated or Chartered level with an Engineering Institution.
