Job Description
Provide full financial leadership across the UK business, partnering the UK MD and Senior Management Team. Oversee all core finance activities including:
* Treasury and cash management
* Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
* Financial and statutory accounting
* Accounts Payable / Receivable
* Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and 5-year planning processes.
* Deliver robust financial analysis for strategic initiatives and capital investments (including DCF modelling)
* Partner with commercial and operational leaders to evaluate sales, pricing, and manufacturing strategies
* Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and statutory compliance across multiple UK entities.
* Provide oversight of tax, VAT and regulatory compliance, including group reporting requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls, and systems.
* Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, building capability and succession.
* Ensure maintenance and compliance with SOX controls and US GAAP reporting standards.
* Support financial system development and transformation initiatives.
* Deliver ad hoc financial insight to support executive decision-making.
The Successful Applicant
We are seeking a commercially minded, hands-on Finance Director with strong leadership capabilities and a track record in complex operating environments.
Candidate profile required;
* A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
* 10+ years experience in senior finance / leadership roles
* Significant Manufacturing, Engineering, or Industrial sector exposure preferred
* Proven ability to operate effectively within a multi-entity / international structure
* Strong financial control, FP&A and reporting capabilities
* Experience with US GAAP and SOX compliance highly advantageous
* Excellent understanding of UK tax and VAT regulations
* Comfortable with financial systems, data, and reporting tools
* Demonstrated ability to partner and influence at Board level
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insight into operational action
* Hands-on, pragmatic leadership style suited to a mid-sized, multi-site organisation
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* High levels of organisation, analytical capability, and attention to detail
* Collaborative approach with the ability to lead and develop teams
