Offer description

As a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) in Rare Nephrology, you will act as a trusted scientific expert, engaging with healthcare professionals across the UK and Ireland. In this field-based, non-promotional role, you'll play a vital part in driving scientific exchange, supporting medical education, and shaping medical strategy through meaningful insight gathering.

You will have a direct impact on improving patient outcomes in rare kidney diseases by building strong relationships with KOLs, supporting clinical projects, and aligning with cross-functional teams — all while upholding the highest ethical and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Act as the primary field-based scientific expert in rare nephrology, engaging external stakeholders with up-to-date scientific and clinical information.
* Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with KOLs, scientific leaders, and key medical stakeholders across the UK and Ireland (approx. 75% of activities will be external-facing).
* Provide tailored medical education and scientific support to HCPs and institutions.
* Gather and communicate real-world insights from clinical practice to inform internal strategies.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, regulatory, market access, and commercial teams to ensure medical alignment with wider business goals.
* Contribute to phase III/IV studies, post-authorisation safety studies, and investigator-initiated research, working closely with the Senior Medical Advisor.
* Support the organisation’s presence at congresses, advisory boards, and other scientific events.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

* Degree in a relevant scientific field (PhD, PharmD, or MSc preferred).
* Proven experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the UK, preferably within nephrology or rare diseases.
* Solid knowledge of UK and Ireland healthcare systems, ABPI Code of Practice, and relevant compliance frameworks.
* Strong scientific communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex information for varied audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with KOLs and clinical experts.
* Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced, field-based role.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for rare diseases and improving patient care. You thrive on building relationships, delivering meaningful insights, and contributing to high-impact medical initiatives. Your blend of scientific knowledge, communication skills, and ethical integrity makes you a key driver of medical excellence in the field.
