Alphagary, an Orbia business, is looking for a People Officer to be based at our Chinley Site in Derbyshire.
Job Summary/ Purpose:
The role will focus on the following key areas:
1. Advising and supporting management team with all people-related matters and ER issues
2. Ensuring best-practice and legal compliance is observed within all people related matters at Chinley
3. Membership of Leadership Team (gravitas / trusted partner) – play an active role in Chinley site leadership
4. Leadership of Management Capability programme (design, deliver & evaluate modules)
5. Managing sickness absence
6. Courageous conversations
7. Coaching
8. Effective communications & briefing
9. Investigations
10. Individual Development Plans
11. Managing all people procedures on site:
12. Recruitment
13. Investigations
14. Sickness absence procedure
15. Disciplinary & Grievance
16. Site briefing process
17. Develop new handbook & policies – consultation of employee reps / delivery of briefings / organisation of new contracts
18. Leadership of projects (topics TBC)
19. Work closely with PBP (Melton) to support UK-wide approach and gain TU experience
You will liaise with Legal Advisor & Occupational Health provider when required as well as reporting to our People Business Partner (UK).
This is an opportunity to develop into first “stand alone” HR role whilst working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Person specification:
20. Experience of working within HR role / HR team
21. Competent within basic HR responsibilities:
22. Procedural support ER (Investigations / SAMP / disciplinaries & grievances)
23. Low-level projects (reorganisation / pay review / training plans)
24. Use and maintenance of HRIS
25. Support Performance Management programme (Success Factors or similar)
26. Design and deliver Induction programmes
27. Recruitment for junior positions
28. Design and deliver Employee wellbeing workshops
29. Interface with support – Payroll / Occupational Health / Legal Advisor / Comp & Bens / Recruitment agencies
30. Writing & delivering briefs
31. Limited experience in the above activities is desirable
32. Experience of working within HR team and managing transactions / processes is essential (probably in HR Officer / Advisor capacity) is essential
33. The new People Officer will undergo significant development in first 12 to 24 months
34. They are required to show potential for development into People Business Partner within 24 months
