Overview
This role is part of the adoption, optimisation and realisation of benefits function in the Digital Transformation and Improvement Directorate. The postholder is responsible for identifying adoption issues and optimisations within Epic, working at service level and closely with the RNOH CXIOs, IO team, improvement team and with UCLH training and build teams to put appropriate solutions in place to enhance Epic. This role needs to work across the Epic connect sites, developing working relationships with teams in each organisation. This role is a bridge between the organisations and requires excellent interpersonal, teamworking and negotiating skills. The post holder will take a lead on one or more adoption projects that will lead to greater productivity in Epic. They will be responsible for planning, process mapping, day to day delivery and adjusting plans as required to ensure that risks and issues are mitigated. They will work alongside clinical and operational teams developing, documenting, and analysing their needs, and help them to agree and deliver clinical best practice standards, future workflows and system optimisation. While UCLH manages the central testing and technical release of Epic upgrades within the Connect environment, the postholder will act as RNOH\'s lead for local adoption readiness, clinical workflow validation, and organisational assurance for Epic releases. The postholder will coordinate RNOH participation in UCLH-led testing cycles, ensuring that RNOH-specific workflows, pathways and configurations are appropriately tested and validated within Epic release environments. The postholder will assess the operational and clinical impact of Epic releases on RNOH services, advising senior clinical and operational leaders on adoption risks, readiness and mitigation actions prior to deployment, manage on a day-to-day basis the expansion, improvement, and delivery of Epic Adoption for area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
* Project management of adoption activities over multiple work streams.
* Act as the RNOH lead for Epic release readiness within the Connect model, coordinating RNOH input into UCLH-managed testing cycles and ensuring RNOH clinical and operational workflows are represented.
* Work with the RNOH and UCLH adoption to measure and assess areas of high and low adoption across RNOH for Epic. Develop initiatives to spread good practice and roadmap for addressing areas of weakness.
* Construct reports for governance and consensus groups which includes the Epic Development Group.
* Coaching and development of the wider EHR Team; coach and develop the wider EHR Team in adoption practices and thinking.
* Constructing and delivery training seminars and programmes as required.
* Manage any future adoption resources brought in to support as the function expands.
* Operational responsibilities: Work with the Head of Training, Adoption and Logistics to run a successful EHR adoption programme; support the management of a set of high-profile elements of the EHR transformation programme, ensuring the provision of modern, efficient, and high-quality services.
* Support the EHR team with a shadowing programme to identify adoption issues and implement quick wins.
* Information: Produce accurate information about the designer team at appropriate forums as required and implement this into the EHR adoption programme.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in leading adoption projects and working with clinical and operational teams.
* Strong planning, process mapping, and project management capabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and negotiating skills.
* Ability to analyse needs, develop workflows and drive system optimisation within an Epic environment.
* Experience coordinating multi-site activities and testing cycles related to clinical systems.
