Salary: £14.30ph - £15.50ph (DOE)
Contract: Full time, Monday–Friday

We’re recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Halewood (L25) for a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant to work one‑to‑one with a non‑verbal pupil from September.

The Role
As the school’s 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support a non‑verbal primary-aged child with communication, routine and emotional regulation
* Implement personalised learning and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, visuals, sensory tools)
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt activities and promote progress
* Create a safe, predictable and encouraging learning environment
* Build a trusting, positive relationship with the child
* Support with social interaction and life-skills development
You will be a key person in helping this pupil access the curriculum and feel fully included in school life.

Ideal Candidate
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience supporting children with SEN (particularly non-verbal communication or ASD)
* A calm, patient and nurturing approach
* Strong behaviour support and de-escalation skills
* Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils
* Confidence using communication aids, visual timetables or sensory strategies
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new approaches
* Reliability, consistency, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive
Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 TA, SEN training, autism training) are desirable but not essential.
