Job Description:
The Procurement Consultant will be reporting to an established Renewable Energy Procurement lead.
You will help clients deliver major capital programmes and projects for green technologies, promoting sustainable energy sources for customers and communities.
Successful candidates will have opportunities to develop their careers, skills, and knowledge by working with industry-leading organizations across the UK and globally, impacting large-scale flagship programmes and projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to public and private sector clients.
* Manage and collaborate with a team on end-to-end procurement services for major projects or programmes.
* Support the development of procurement services.
* Assist in business development and marketing of the department.
* Support the delivery of team and business targets.
* Contribute to bid preparation, proposal documentation, and work-winning activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience with technologies such as Hydro-Electric, Wind, Tidal, Waste-to-Energy, Hydrogen, Solar, Carbon Capture, Biofuels, Geothermal is desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of embedding excellence into procurement activities.
* Core skills in procurement, supply chain management, and contract management, including strategy, contract management, supplier evaluation, and negotiation.
* Experience in procurement consulting from client, contractor, or professional services perspectives.
* Experience with responsible sourcing areas like human rights, environment, health and safety, anti-bribery, and labor practices.
* Good understanding of the UK and international energy sector, technologies, and regulations is desirable.
* Experience in engaging with suppliers successfully.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* A degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law, or procurement is preferred.
* Willingness to work towards CIPS Level 4 qualification.
