Field Service Chemist - Laboratory Instrumentation
UK -50-75% Travel with Occasional International Travel (North West base would be desired)
Up to £38,000 per annum
Russell Taylor Group have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Chemist who enjoys getting out of the lab and into the field.
We are recruiting for a Field Service Chemist to join a leading scientific instrumentation organisation. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role combining chemistry, engineering, troubleshooting and travel across the UK.
The Role:
• Service, maintain and repair advanced analytical instrumentation
• Install new systems and deliver customer training on how to upkeep maintenance tasks.
• Be on hand for customers face to face, phone or email.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and analytical faults
• Provide remote and on-site technical support
• Prepare paperwork and documentation following the installation of instrumentation.
• Manage your own travel schedule and service planning
The Person
• Educated to degree level in Chemistry (or closely related discipline)
• Strong practical lab skills
• Understanding of electrical/electronic principles
• Confident reading schematics and technical manuals
• Excellent communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Happy to travel 50-75% UK wide and occasional international travel.
