Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking to work within a supportive and collaborative environment. This is a full time office based role, expected to last 4-6 weeks initially, but there may be the potential for a permanent role after this period.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices and supplier accounts are processed accurately and efficiently. Full handover and process training will be provided, making this a fantastic opportunity to join a well-structured finance team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Managing the Accounts Payable process for the equipment division
2. Processing and matching inventory invoices using 3-way matching procedures
3. Handling online approval workflows for non-stock invoices
4. Resolving supplier queries and carrying out statement reconciliations
5. Supporting internal stakeholders with AP-related queries, compliance, and policy guidance
6. Assisting with weekly payment runs
7. Updating stock costing data when required
8. Supporting month-end Accounts Payable processes and GRNI reconciliations
9. Assisting with additional finance administration duties during peak periods, including expenses and reporting support

Candidate Requirements

10. Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance role
11. Good understanding of basic accounting principles and AP processes
12. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
13. Confident IT user with experience using finance systems
14. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and follow processes accurately
15. Experience with Sage 1000 and/or Compleat would be advantageous, but not essential
