The role:
The main purpose of this role is to lead and deliver complex audit assignments in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice, to provide assurance to senior management on the effectiveness of the control environment within St. James’s Place plc (“the Group”), as well as identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency of business processes.
The primary role of Internal Audit is to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the Group. Internal Audit’s objective is therefore to drive continuous improvement in these areas by assessing and reporting on the overall effectiveness of the risk management, control and governance processes across the Group and by appropriately challenging Executive Management to improve the effectiveness of these
What you'll be doing:
 1. Plan, lead and deliver a portfolio of audits to a high quality and in compliance with the Division’s methodology, professional standards and industry benchmarks, within agreed budget and timescales.
 2. When leading audit assignments, effectively manage work undertaken by colleagues and co-source auditors.
 3. Engage with stakeholders, throughout audits, to ensure they are kept up-to-date and are aware of emerging issues.
 4. Take full responsibility for producing clear, comprehensive and concise scope documents, audit working papers and impactful audit reports.
 5. Present insightful, concise and timely findings to senior management and agree appropriate actions which balance risks, strategic objectives and commercial realities.
 6. Ensure audit recommendations are followed up appropriately.

Who we're looking for:
Essential Criteria
You will have knowledge and understanding of Internal Audit and the financial services regulatory environment in which the Group operates. You will hold professional qualifications in Accountancy ( ACCA) or Internal Audit ( CMIIA or CIA) and have a good understanding and practical experience of internal audit methodology and process or external audit. Ideally you will also possess hands-on experience of deploying data analytics within an audit environment.
Prior experience of the Group is not required for the jobholder. Knowledge of the financial services industry and working in a regulated company will be beneficial.

Role will be based in Cirencester oir Bristol with occasional travel required
