Job Title: Project Manager - Finance System Implementation
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for 12 Months
Salary: £70,000 Per Annum
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Working Pattern : Monday-Friday, Hybrid
Location: Speke, Liverpool

The difference you will make as an Project Manager - Finance System Implementation

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary highly skilled team to deliver a finance system integration project within the Riverside Transformation Portfolio.

You’ll have experience in delivering complex system integration projects, specifically with experience of delivering finance integration, oracle cloud or ERP Projects. You will be adept at delivering complex projects, using various methodologies (waterfall/agile), breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level, whilst getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

As Project Manager, you will work closely with other Business Transformation (BT) colleagues, as well as peers across the CIO directorate and wider business to ensure scope, finances and timescales are met, as well as risks and issues appropriately managed.

Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience are essential for this role, as you will be required to work with our single governance model and support our wider BT team and CIO directorate manage expectations in a controlled and assured manner.

You will be core to decisions that build self-organising high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking and you will be versatile, team focussed and committed to deliver quality products and value add business outcomes.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

1. Experience of delivering complex system integrations, specifically Finance, Oracle Cloud or ERP solutions
2. Experience of delivering change within a complex, multi-site organisation
3. Experience of delivering projects using a range of methodologies / approaches such as SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, waterfall (PRINCE / MSP) or other Agile methodologies
4. An understanding of Agile principles

Role Profile

10. Manage change effectively with a relentless focus on delivering projects and products by using the most appropriate methodology – waterfall or agile
11. Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
12. Lead a project team, creating a can do attitude and a will to deliver quality products and business outcomes
13. Responsible for the matrix-management a multidisciplinary team, keeping performance and morale high whilst keeping the team on track and managing the team dynamics to create a culture of innovation
14. Work closely with the Business Architect to ensure the team concentrate on prioritised work packages delivering the expected outcomes through iterative delivery
15. Actively participating in the Project Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice
16. Identify and remove blockers to successful delivery by facilitating decision making
17. Continuously review pipeline initiatives and with Business Design colleagues to regularly review priorities
18. Ensure that the timely and dynamic planning of work for the pipeline reflects the capability and capacity of the project team
19. Encourage your team to self-organise and adopt new ways of delivering project outcomes
20. Work with the Business Architect to build resource and budget requirements into the business cases and take ownership for ensuring the project delivers the anticipated benefits
21. Work with a range of stakeholders from across the business to understand priorities, ensure that deliverables meet their needs, priorities and quality expectations
22. Contribute and attend key governance forums, including presenting information to ensure effective communication and informed decision making
23. Manage the project plan, including deliverables, schedule, resources and associated budget to ensure effective delivery
24. Manage interdependencies between project work streams and other projects across the Group, ensuring effective delivery to the required standards and achievement of expected outcomes and benefits.
25. Manage the project change control process as required, ensuring re-planning activity is carried out and delivery plans are impacted accordingly.
26. Manage risks and issues, in line with the Group’s framework, ensuring effective resolution of problems or
escalation as appropriate.
27. Represent assigned projects at key governance forums, ensuring project delivery is in line with associated forum standards and guidance.
28. Create and maintain effective lines of communication across a variety of channels throughout the project ensuring that stakeholders are part of the change process
29. Lead relevant project meetings using appropriate methodologies
30. Work closely with PMO to co-ordinate across the portfolio and improve transparency

Person specification

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

31. Experience of delivering complex system integrations, specifically Finance, Oracle Cloud or ERP solutions
32. Experience of delivering change within a complex, multi-site organisation
33. Experience of delivering projects using a range of methodologies / approaches such as SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, waterfall (PRINCE / MSP) or other Agile methodologies

35. Experience of workflow tools to manage projects including, Jira, Planner, O365 etc
36. Strong programme and project management skills in planning, resourcing and budgeting
37. Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team in the successful completion of change
38. Understanding of risk management
39. Experience of business case production
40. Effective stakeholder management, including the ability to successfully negotiate, persuade and influence
41. Excellent presentation and communication skills
42. Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
43. Delivery focused with the ability to analyse complex information
44. Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to drive change
