Role Overview
Virtual Build and Test Operations is a growing team within the wider Vehicle Architecture Vehicle Engineering (VAVE) function at our client organisation. The team plays a critical role in supporting the transition of vehicle programmes from the virtual environment to the physical world.
The client operates a world‑class Virtual Series Framework and is driving transformation across its Verification and Validation strategy. The focus is on virtually building and testing vehicles with greater speed, confidence, and coverage than ever before-unlocking significant time, cost, quality, and sustainability benefits.
As part of this journey, the CAD Quality Analyst will contribute directly to the delivery of future vehicle programmes by ensuring the quality and compatibility of engineering data at the earliest stages of development.
What You'll Be Working On
Geometric data underpins both physical and virtual vehicle validation and is fundamental to the creation of high‑quality products. As a CAD Quality Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the Virtual Series delivery, helping to ensure exceptional outcomes for customers by proactively identifying and resolving CAD quality issues early in the development cycle.
A major focus of the role will be driving CAD compatibility and supporting engineers to address potential issues before they impact downstream activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect CAD geometry to identify potential quality and compatibility issues
* Clearly document and communicate issues so they are easily understood by engineering teams
* Work collaboratively with cross‑functional stakeholders to support issue resolution
* Present findings in CAD and technical review forums, explaining issues and recommended actions
* Contribute to maintaining high standards of data quality across vehicle programmes
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
* Proficiency in PLM and CAD tools, including Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE (PLM), CATIA V5 (CAD), and Siemens Teamcenter (PLM)
* Strong technical understanding of automotive architectures, systems, or commodities
* Ability to apply engineering knowledge effectively in a design or development environment
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information both verbally and in clear written documentation
* Exceptional attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to problem‑solving
* Confidence working independently, while knowing when to seek support or clarification
* Strong process mindset, committed to quality, consistency, and continuous improvement
* Proven ability to manage workload effectively, prioritising tasks and meeting agreed deadlines
* Proactive, technically curious, and motivated to learn new tools, processes, and skills
Desirable
* Experience in CAD quality checking, digital mock‑up reviews, or virtual validation
* Ability to assess the impact of issues and document findings clearly and concisely
