Description and requirements

You will be working in the Cementation Operating Unit where, for over a century, Cementation Skanska has been a trusted leader in piling and ground engineering. Our breadth of expertise spans every aspect of geotechnical engineering – from micro-piling to diaphragm walls – enabling us to deliver innovative solutions for the most complex challenges.
We are currently looking for a Plater/Welder, located in Bentley, who will manufacture various fabrications to a technical drawing, as directed by the Fabrication Shop supervision.
As the Plater/Welder, you will:
1. Manufacture, modify or repair to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
2. Progress the work / job on a routine basis, from initial inspection to final inspection, in line with the requirements stipulated by the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)
3. Identify materials and tools as required for the job, ensuring continuity of the work
4. Ensure estimated timed jobs and deadlines are met - this may involve extra working hours
5. Complete all relevant paperwork throughout the job to ensure the correct standards are maintained
We are looking for:
6. City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Welding and Fabrication; experience in manufacturing, modifying or repairing plant and equipment to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
7. Coded welder qualification
8. Health and Safety trained - CSCS card
9. Environmental awareness
10. Ability to read technical drawings
