About the role
We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no two days are the same.
You will play an important role in the daily operations of our store by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments, and maintaining the store’s appearance.
As customer focus is at the heart of everything we do, you will be encouraged to find ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback.
With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
You will be Responsible For
* Serving customers with passion and pride, providing natural and friendly service.
* Encouraging customer feedback through the ‘have your say’ survey.
* Working across all store areas including online, tills, replenishment, vending, and stock routines to meet customer needs.
* Practicing training to ensure safety at all times.
* Participating in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Understanding store performance and your role in delivering profit.
* Living our values, making everyone feel welcome, and following policies.
* Clocking in and out accurately to ensure correct payment.
* Following security procedures and wearing safety equipment to keep everyone safe.
* Following the think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
* Responding promptly to assistance calls or interventions at self-service checkouts, explaining your actions to customers.
* Keeping the store clean, tidy, and organized, ensuring aisles are clear.
* Occasionally managing shifts in the absence of your Shift Leader or Store Manager.
* Following all training to keep yourself, colleagues, and customers safe and compliant.
If your store has a Post Office Local, your duties will include managing the daily operations of the post office. You will need to pass a Post Office financial and criminal background check; if you do not pass, the job offer will be withdrawn.
