Deliver the project / section of works on time, understanding the project set-up, the roles played by different members of the team and details of the site and construction. Be fully aware of what has to be delivered and use this information to produce a short-term programme for own works to be completed on time with contract programme.
Allocate tasks to Assistant / Junior Engineers and liaise with the Site Manager, Section Manager, General Foreman and manage the task to completion. Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed at the same time as the work to ensure that it is delivered to specification.
Oversee engineering requirements demanded in the delivery of the scope of work or on larger projects, of a subcontractor, to meet the construction programme, working and coordinating with the teams.
Key Responsibilities;
1. Understand what is being built and proposed methods of construction
2. Understand the engineering principles for the works to be constructed
3. Identify the need for Temporary Works and liaise with the Temporary Works Coordinator
4. Be responsible for setting out for line and level on the site, obtaining setting out details from the Construction drawings or CAD model or other digital platforms
5. Provideinputandreportprogresstotheprojectplanner
6. Developanunderstandingofthedetailofcommercialimplicationsbehinddecisions
7. WorkcloselywiththeQSforyoursectionofwork
8. Supervisetheon-siteinspectionprocessandensureallinspectionsarecompletedontimeandindigitalformat.
9. Ensureinspections&testsarecompleteddigitallyinaccordancewithInspectionandTestPlans(ITP)
10. Identifyproblemsandmanagetheirresolution(issues/defects)

Ideal Candidate;
14. Good general education as a minimum with a focus on STEM subjects
15. Desirable civil engineering or similar degree and working towards or having achieved Engineering Technician, Incorporated or Charted Engineer level with CIHT or ICE or CICES
16. Driving License, Required
17. Good IT skills, including the ability to use AutoCad for the purpose of engineering
