An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic person to be a pivotal part of Cancer Services. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Cancer Nurse to deliver on personalised care projects, identified in the NHS Long Term Plan. The successful candidate will have experience leading and managing teams and promoting strong visible leadership as well as confidence influencing teams across the trust. The post holder must be equipped with the skillset to lead and navigate teams through the financial climate and project managing new ways of working to improve outcomes for our patients. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the personalised cancer agenda, specifically the benefit of stratified follow up, experience in working with charities or external parties and patient experience including NCPES. Base Location: Royal Bournemouth Hospital - cross site working will be required Interview date: TBC Main duties of the job To embed, and improve personalised care interventions including: Holistic Needs Assessments (eHNA) Personalised Care Support Planning (PCSP), based on HNA Health & Wellbeing Information & Support (HWIS) Treatment Summaries Personalised Stratified Follow Up & Self Supported Management (PSFU/SSM) To support the implementation of a prehabilitation programme for cancer patients. To engage with patients and patient groups providing valuable patient feedback, to drive service improvement. As part of this, some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or permanently. Recruiting Managers will be happy to answer any service-specific questions at interview. If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Integrity is key to our recruitment process Detailed job description and main responsibilities To understand the role in more detail please read the full job description and person specification documents which are attached to this advert Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Educated to degree level or equivalent Evidence of development of project management knowledge and skills through formal courses and/or experience APM Prince 2 or equivalent Desirable criteria Masters level qualification or equivalent Experience Essential criteria Experience of delivering major projects to specified outcomes, budgets and timescales Experience of working across boundaries, engaging and managing a broad range stakeholders Experience of working within Cancer pathways, either in a project management role or in a clinical role Desirable criteria Experience in delivering projects involving large scale transformation and/or service redesign Technical Skills Competencies Essential criteria Ability to deliver assigned projects and work packages, in accordance with agreed standards and methodologies, within agreed timescales, budgets and to specified quality criteria Highly numerate and able to communicate and present articulately both verbally and in writing Ability to assimilate, interpret and analyse complex information and data to ensure effective reporting and progress of projects Desirable criteria Previous involvement in service development and redesign to provide high quality care and treatment to patients Experience in Cancer care pathways Knowledge Essential criteria Knowledge of, and ability to use, relevant project management tools and techniques Knowledge of the principles of organisational change and continuous improvement Knowledge of national and corporate policies that apply to assigned projects Knowledge and utilisation of Stratified follow up pathways/remote monitoring system Desirable criteria In depth knowledge of all current health service issues Experience, knowledge and understanding of the services and pathways for allocated work stream and specialty responsibilities
