The role:

To lead and drive the company’s sales strategy, overseeing the development of new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and growth targets. This role is a succession position, preparing the individual to transition into the full Sales Director role.

Duties within the role:

1. Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company’s long-term objectives.
2. Lead the sales team, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction.
3. Identify and cultivate high-value client relationships and strategic partnerships.
4. Oversee and carry out, the costing and quoting of steel, aluminium roofs and concrete projects, ensuring profitability and competitiveness are met.
5. Drive the development of new focus areas for our established markets, Utilities, Biogas, and Industrial effluent.
6. Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market trends.
7. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
9. Champion the company’s brand and reputation in the UK and international markets.
10. Achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets within defined timelines.
11. Navigate complex client requirements and tight deadlines.
12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales forecasts and reporting.
13. Manage and develop a highly motivated, efficient and effective sales team.

The successful candidate:

14. Proven track record in senior sales leadership roles within the utilities and construction or industrial sectors.
15. Strong strategic thinking and business development capabilities.
16. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
17. Deep understanding of construction and utility led related technologies.
18. Experienced managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
19. Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy.
20. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
21. Leadership presence with the ability to influence at all levels.
